Optimising synergies between agricultural production and ecosystem services, led by Sweden & France
Summary
To design land use systems that optimise synergies between agricultural production and ecosystem services (ES). The activity initially focuses on understanding the research landscape on ecosystem services in temperate agriculture.
Current work includes:
- Developing an inventory of studies of ecosystem services in agriculture from the scientific literature
- Producing an overview of networks in the field of ecosystem services in agriculture
- To assimilate ongoing national & international inventories of agricultural ecosystem services
This work will address present research gaps concerning agricultural ES and will list ongoing national & international activities on agricultural ES. This will help understand how agricultural ES should be managed & incorporate interactions btw ecosystem processes and human inputs.
